Biltmore Estate Winery
The Biltmore Estate Winery is set upon the 8,000 acre grounds of George Vanderbilt’s private estate. His grandson, William A.V. Cecil, first began planting vineyeards and winemaking at Biltmore in 1971.
In the decades since, Biltmore Winery has grown and tested numerous grape varietals. Today, six varietals – Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlor, Rieslin, and Viognier – have proven to be well-suited for growing here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Biltmore Estate’s wines honor the Vanderbilt agricultural heritage as well as Mr. Cecil’s vision to create new opportunities for his family’s estate.
