Bear Hug Inn at Gated Smoky Mountain Retreat Community
Bear Hug Inn has spectacular mountain views at 3,900 ft. Enjoy this retreat with its three bedrooms+ loft, 3 ½ baths log cabin space. The loft/office area includes sleeper futon and a desk area with printer for you to enjoy the views while working, along with a reading library. There are two fireplaces, five flatscreen TVs, high speed internet, central heat and air. Bear Hug Inn has a two-car garage, outdoor gas grill with large entertainment area, including covered deck with porch swing to enjoy the excellent views. Also furnished is a washer/dryer in the laundry room. We have equipped our well stocked gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, professional gas cooktop, dishwasher and coffeemakers. There are two master suites on separate floors with additional third bedroom.
NO MOTORCYCLES OF ANY KIND, TRAILERS, & LARGE RVS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS COMMUNITY.
1st Floor: Spacious great room with updated furniture to enjoy the panoramic views, open kitchen with granite countertop bar seating. 55” flat screen TV, screened-in porch off kitchen for seasonal dining, laundry room with washer/dryer, half bath and living room with wood burning stone fireplace that opens to covered desk with outdoor seating to enjoy the breathtaking views.
2nd Floor (Upstairs): Master suite with king bed, flat screen TV. Full bath with shower, loft with desk and reading area, full size futon and seating area looking out to open views.
3rd Floor (Downstairs): Master suite king bed with full bathtub/shower combo. Living room includes gas fireplace and 65” smart TV. Second bedroom sleeps six (two sets of bunk beds replaced with new mattresses), full size bed (bottom bunk) twin size bed (top), flat screen TV. Second full bath with tub/shower combo. Family room has private access to lower desk and outside porch swing overlooking stunning mountain views.

The Smoky Mountain Retreat at Eagle’s Nest subdivision does not permit motorcycles or trailers on the mountain.

During our multi-week stay in the mountains of North Carolina the Bear Hug Inn was our home away from home. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning to the beautiful vista overlooking Maggie Valley, and the Bear Hug was a perfect place to relax, enjoy time with friends, and to cook and enjoy delicious meals. It is also conveniently located for enjoying activities in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area, including enjoying some of the great local eateries, shopping and playing golf. We also took great advantage of the proximity to other locales and enjoyed visits to Asheville, Dollywood and Highlands. The Bear Hug Inn was perfect for us.

We have come here many years twice a year it’s always beautiful and it’s always clean and the mountains are always gorgeous. The management company always responds promptly and effectively. There were recent upgrades that are great and I can’t wait to come back again! When I post pictures on Facebook, all of my friends ask me where are you and how can I rent this house? Be sure and check out the buttered biscuit, Maggie Valley restaurant, Joey’s pancake House, and Waynesville. It’s all good and fall is spectacular, so is spring.

Bear Hug Inn was the perfect layout and location for our 30th anniversary trip. We had been eyeing this property for vacation for a few years and it did not disappoint. Beautiful and comfortable with gorgeous views across the valley. Just be sure your family members can climb stairs as there is no bedroom on the main floor. Request child gates if traveling with young children. Bonus - property management office employees are amazing to interact with. We will definitely return!

We entered a super clean , very spacious mountain home that easily accommodated our party of 8. The home can potentially accommodate 10 with 2 sets of bunks for kids!
The multi level worked well with 2 generations including a baby and one very well behaved dog!

Everything about Bear Hug Cabin was top notch! What fabulous views. Thank you to the owners for such a well equipped and lovely cabin. We loved sitting on the porch watching the birds at the feeder and enjoying the views. The cabin is situated so that you have views from almost every room. The location is perfect for day trips to Ashville, Waynesville and the National Park. Had great food at Frankies Italian in Maggie Valley and Frogs Leap in Waynesville. The very large cabin was perfect! 4000 ft. Up in the mountains. We found it very easily with directions from Sara at the office. She was great! Easy driveway. Cabin extremely clean and we'll stocked. Decorated beautifully! We, along with our friends spent most of our time sitting outside on the back porch watching the humming birds and taking in the magnificent views. Grocery stores, great restaurants and shops nearby. Waynesville is 20 min away with lots to do and see. Shopping is great! Hope to return soon.

I got this house for a bachelor weekend for my buddy. I kinda rushed getting a place and didn’t look too much into it. So when we arrived at the cabin we were all blown away. It was absolutely beautiful and serene. The drive up the mountain was a bit intense but you get used to it. The view is incredible looking over Maggie valley and watching stormed roll over the mountains in the distance. The house was extremely clean and provided almost everything you would need. I stayed in the downstairs master bedroom and it was amaaazingg. Waynesville is right around the corner which is a super fun town and there are some great breakfast spots right around the corner. This was our family Christmas vacation 2019. With 4 adults and 3 children, there was more than enough room for everyone. I was very impressed by the well equipped kitchen; whatever kitchen gadget or appliance you could ever need...this one had it! The check-in/check-out process was very simple, and the location was great. Only 10 minutes to the main part of town where you could find your grocery shopping and many other amenities. Snow tubing for the kids was also a very short 10 minute drive. Both of our families really enjoyed our stay, and had a very memorable Christmas vacation.
